my-first-post.md
This is my personal blog. Thatβs it. Just a space to share thoughts on music, learning, and life. There is no Linktree, no call-to-action, no portfolio, no push to check out something you donβt care about.
If thatβs enough for you, that rules.
Everything below is not important, but this is still my blog.
So, Iβll use this opportunity to write more words.
Some context
I have followed ashastral and mmakerβs pages for years. Their perspective matters to me; they are always giving me something to think about and have meaningfully improved my life by helping me become better at communicating my own thoughts.
So, I kept telling my friends I would “make a website” as well. But sharing what youβre working on is the fastest way to kill it. And that is what happened.
Itβs 2025, and my life looks nothing like it did five years ago.
In that span, Iβve moved across five states, lost weight, made new friends, written music, contributed to commercial games, and, most notably, eliminated social media from my day-to-day.
Obviously, this isnβt entirely true. I still use Reddit, find Facebook Marketplace useful, and keep Twitter open to respond to DMs. But Iβve lacked a space online to capture my thoughts for a while now. And thereβs a certain loneliness that comes with it.
This space is really just for my fixationsβcool computer software, written guides, thoughts on my favorite music, interesting stuff I come across, documenting the process of making things, and some experiences worth sharing.
There is also a lot of stuff I want that currently does not exist online. And my main drive for creating is more often than not, “What if this thing didnβt suck?” It has been extremely successful for both my motivation and results.
I also hope this website helps me become a better communicator. Thinking of what to say in this introduction took five minutes. Writing it took over an hour. Sad, right?
The format
Well, there isnβt really one.
But Iβll still explain how my posts will be titled and organized.
-
Posts marked as #personal will be titled like-this.md. This is largely symbolic, but designed to feel “anti-SEO”. These arenβt the posts Iβm trying to share or spread widely. Itβs a bit low-key and, tbh, kind of amusing.
-
Posts marked as #anything else will be titled Like This. The presentation mattersβitβs important that it doesnβt look like someoneβs being directed to a sketchy, untrustworthy blog. Even if thatβs what this whole operation is.
-
Posts marked as #cool thing are hand-curated. This is a site feature I skillfully borrowed from meow.garden. Itβs meant to share the love with my friends and highlight everything Iβm obsessed with, but doesnβt nessecarily require a full post.
And thatβs pretty much it
If you got this far, thanks. Youβre either a great friend, skipped literally everything, or a hardcore internet stalker who found something I made online once and chose to investigate my entire life.
You are always welcome to keep in touch.
